From Golf Resort and Equestrian Heritage

to One Country-club

About The Project

FERRETTI RIVIERA RESORT was conceived as a comprehensive repositioning and expansion of Riviera Golf Resort, seamlessly connected with the equestrian heritage of Horses Riviera as one international equestrian, country-club and lifestyle destination.

HANA BELLINI DESIGN developed the hospitality concept and interior design study around a multi-layered transformation: renovating the existing 28 suites and 4 villas at Riviera Golf Resort, developing a new 80-key hotel at the golf resort, upgrading the existing spa and introducing additional spa and wellness capacity appropriate for the expanded 112-key hospitality offer.

The wider design strategy extends beyond the hotel itself. Riviera Golf provides the hospitality, golf, wellness, pool-club and social heart of the destination, while Horses Riviera brings the equestrian heritage and sporting identity. Together, the properties are designed to operate as one coherent guest ecosystem rather than as separate real-estate assets.

The design language draws on timeless country-club elegance interpreted through a contemporary Italian lens: rich woods, tailored upholstery, natural textures, deep navy and warm cognac accents, refined sporting references and relaxed resort detailing create a sophisticated identity with a strong sense of place.

Expanding an Existing Resort While Connecting

Two Different Worlds

Challanges

The central challenge was not simply to redesign an existing hotel. It was to create a coherent hospitality destination across refurbishment, new development and two properties with fundamentally different identities and functions.

At Riviera Golf Resort, the existing 28 suites and 4 villas require repositioning while retaining viable architecture and infrastructure. At the same time, a new 80-key hotel must expand accommodation capacity without feeling like a separate addition. Existing and new guestrooms, villas and public areas therefore need to read as one resort from the moment guests arrive.

The expansion from 32 existing keys to a combined 112-key hospitality offer also changes the wellness requirement. The existing spa must be renovated, while additional spa and wellness facilities are needed to create sufficient capacity for the enlarged resort and support wellness as a meaningful part of the guest experience rather than a secondary amenity.

A further layer is the connection with Horses Riviera — an equestrian heritage property and sporting asset with a very different operational character. The design strategy needed to translate equestrian heritage into the hospitality experience with authenticity and restraint, while connecting it naturally with golf, wellness, pool-club, F&B and social life.

Materials, colours, furniture, lighting and decorative references establish a recognisable Ferretti resort language.

Finally, the concept needed to work equally well for riders and non-riding guests. Golf, spa and wellness, pool-club, restaurants and social programming broaden the proposition beyond sport and allow the destination to function as a complete international country-club and lifestyle resort.
